Metagrid-Plugin – that’s the name of the latest digital tool from the Dodis AI initiative. The browser extension, which connects research infrastructures, is now available for download.
Dodis thinks and acts radically digitally and has always been committed to free and open access to research data (Open Science). Since 2010, Dodis has been operating the Metagrid service to network research and metadata from more than 35 humanities projects and libraries in Switzerland and abroad.
Dodis sees the new and rapid developments in the field of artificial intelligence as an opportunity and is actively exploiting its enormous potential. Dodis’ latest innovation is the Metagrid-Plugin. The plugin is a browser extension that uses artificial intelligence to identify, link, and display thematically related content from different research infrastructures.
Anyone who has installed the Metagrid-Plugin will automatically receive suggestions with links to related content on the websites of Dodis, Année politique Suisse (APS), Historisches Lexikon der Schweiz (HLS), Curia Vista, and in the catalog of the Swiss Federal Archives (SFA). The Metagrid plugin works on all Chromium-based web browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Samsung Internet, etc.) and can be downloaded free of charge from the Chrome Web Store: http://dod.is/L3
