Christiane Sibille studied history and musicology in Heidelberg, where she obtained her doctorate in 2014 with a thesis entitled “Harmony must dominate the world”. International organisations and music in the first half of the 20th century (Quaderni di Dodis, vol. 6).
From 2012 to 2025, she was a research assistant at Dodis, focusing on digital innovation. In this role, she coordinated the Metagrid project in particular.
Since 2021, she has been responsible for the Digital Scholarship Services department in the Collections and Archives section of the ETH Library.
Other professional positions have included the University of Heidelberg, the University of Basel and the Zurich University of the Arts. She has been teaching regularly on topics related to digital history and European global studies at the University of Basel since 2015. She is also president of the "History and computing"association, a member of the Archive Commission of the Canton of Aargau, a member of the Culture Advisory Council of NFDI4Culture and on the board of the Swiss Music Encyclopaedia and the SSHOC-CH association.
Christiane Sibille has been an associate researcher at Dodis since 2026.
