Studied history and political science at the University of Bern.
Has been working at the Dodis research centre since 2014. In this role, he is primarily responsible for the technical design, development and maintenance of the Metagrid web service. Other areas of focus include the further development of modular research infrastructures in the field of document retrieval and machine learning (computer vision, NLP) and the design and programming of the Metagrid-Plugin, a tool for the automated networking of website data via LLMs.
Since 2025, he has been working as a doctoral student at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Bern on the SNF project «AI-Supported Human-Computer Interaction with Large Volumes of Historical Documents». As an associate researcher at Dodis, he ensures close communication between the SNF project and Dodis.
