Content
Vol. 19 of the Diplomatic Documents of Switzerland (1.5.1952–31.3.1955) covers a period marked by the Cold War and the first attempt at East-West détente. The Swiss diplomacy seizes the opportunity to assert its policy of neutrality: Additionally Switzerland participates in the Neutral Nation Supervisory Committee monitoring the ceasefire in Korea and organizes the conference in Geneva designed to end the conflicts in Korea and Indochina. Moreover this volume contains many information not only on Switzerland’s bilateral relations with its principal partners and the development of its connections with countries in Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, but also on its participation in international organizations and its policies towards European institutions.
