Content
Volume 18 of Diplomatic Documents of Switzerland (July 1949 to April 1952) deals with the increasing tension between East and West. Swiss diplomacy continued to cooperate with Europe and the world within an environment marked by the Korean War. Confronted with the creation of two German states, it negotiated with the Allies and with Bonn. In Asia, Switzerland recognized Communist China and dealt with enquiries from new Asiatic countries.
