Im November 1938 versuchte der Schweizer Maurice Bavaud (dodis.ch/P3807) mehrfach Hitler umzubringen. Er wurde von den deutschen Behörden verhaftet, eingesperrt und im Dezember 1939 zu Tode verurteilt. Am 14. Mai 1941 wurde er hingerichtet.
