DoDiS is an electronic database on Swiss foreign policy and international relations (published by Swiss Diplomatic Documents - DDS). The database contains information on documents, persons, organizations and geographical terms. A certain amount of the documents is available in electronic image-based form.

Only documents out of the Federal archive files get systematically indexed (i.e. the connection between mentioned personalities, organizations and geographical terms will be established). More documents (e.g. messages, reports of the Federal Council, documents already published in official Federal publications and bibliographical references) are only integrated in the database (i.e. they are linked with the thematic index).

The DoDiS database is being continuously expanded and updated. It currently contains 7850 published and unpublished documents and 1480 bibliographical referencies. About 5792 documents are available as electronic facsimilés (July 2008). In March 2008 2750 records of the ICE database were integrated. DoDiS doesn’t assert claims to completeness, but aims to make useful information accessible and point out research methods.
