DoDiS is the Internet database of
Swiss Diplomatic Documents (DDS). It contains comprehensive
information on documents, personalities, organizations, geographical
terms and bibliographical references concerning the foreign relations
of Switzerland.
The DoDiS Internet database was conceived as a way
of publishing the documents for the volumes of the second period
(from vol. 16, 1945 and following years) in digital form. Unlike
the printed publication, the database provides
no scientific annotations and annexes. Parallel use of the printed
publication therefore offers considerable benefits. (As an exception
DoDiS includes also some documents from the period before 1945.)
DoDiS displays all documentes of the second serie
as image (by PDF format). In addition to this first group, DoDiS
includes more documents which haven't been published in the printed
editon. A third group in DoDiS are those documents without image
(including literature). For more detailed explanations see Contents
of the database. The Thematic
list supports your search of subjects or countries.
With Simple
search (Help) you can search records within documents in following
fields: DoDis No., titel, summary and/or date/period. Or you can
search for persons, organizations, geographical terms, subjects
or archive classification and find the documents that are linked
with these keywords.
With Combined
Search (Help) you can combine the document search (DoDiS No., title,
summary and/or date/period) with keywords, i.e. links of the document
with persons, organizations, geographical terms, subjects and/or
archive classification).
If you want to mention documents from DoDiS, please
have a look at the recommendations
for quoting.
